I can sympathise! When I mentioned my symptoms to a woman at work, she smiled and said 'Oh my mum has MS and that's EXACTLY how she started'. Up until that point, MS had only been a tiny thought in the back of my mind. Bah!

I agree Kitty. I had some neuro symptoms in the past, as well. I started off by going to a general physician, and he just gave me a quick look, ordered a basic blood test, and x-ray of the cervical spine, and said "humph...could be MS".  I do not have MS.

I tried describing my symptoms to a nurse, at a different doctor during that time period, and she cut me off and said "Yeah, I think you've painted the picture for me."  Based on my experience, and what I've heard of others' experiences, it seems that many, if not the majority of healthcare providers, are intelligent enough to pass medical school, but have little to no understanding of such a ubiquitous and common problem as anxiety.

I couldn't agree more about stupid comments people make.  My hubby knows my anxiety is at an all time high because of my fingers moving back and forth (I'm calling it wagging).  I was being quiet today and he said he knew I was thinking about them and maybe it was some hereditary nerve disease.  I don't even freakin' know what that means and I know he doesn't either, but I'm pissed.  He's in a for a long lonely stretch... that's all I'm sayin'.

What I've beaten....  lung cancer (although it stays in the back of my mind), copd, ovarian cancer, vaginal cancer (since my cervix is already gone), breast cancer, stomach cancer, brain tumor, ms, blood clots, lock jaw, melanoma, intestinal cancer, I've hd numerous heart attacks... there are probably others I have forgotten.  Now I'm worried about MS, Parkinsons, or ALS (although I did beat ALS once already back in 2007).
