Tired on lexapro?

20 seems to be helping with te anxiety but my energy level is really taking a hit. Any ideas as to whether this will pass? I'm sleeping normally. Just worn out by early afternoon

While Lexapro isn't a sedating antidepressants per se, there are probably more people complaining about insomnia, some do initially find it makes them sleepy. This should, hopefully, begin to ease in another week or two. You could try switching the time of day you take it to see if it makes a difference.

To be honest , I have Fibro and I'm taking Lexapro so that might affect things but, I have found that I am much more subdued on it. I'm not having any extreme reactions anymore but I'm not having a lot of reactions at all to anything. Sometimes it's really frustrating, I feel like crying but I can't!. My family is just happy that the panic stopped but I feel kinda dead at times.

Thetiredness isn't every day but every few days I get exhausted and just can't do anything. I'm hoping that I will level out soon. I'm only taking 20 mg. Back when I took Celexa I was on 40mg. Never had a single side effect!

@insights- no i didn't feel like this on celexa. Then again it didn't take away the anxiety either. So i realize this is a better situation it just feels wrong.

I am most tired on the lexapro (and klonapin) in the morning shortly after I wake up.  Could also be anxiety/depression to some degree too.  Seems I have to nod out at some point during the morning, though I do take .25 klonopin on waking for the jitters, but the same dose at 3 in the afternoon does not tire me.  I also take .5 at night (lex is taken around 7) which lets me sleep for at least a while, but when I awake at 3 4 or 5, its hard to fully fall back asleep.  I do not recall fatigue as a major side effect of lex when I last took it, nor do I remember stomach issues and all the other stuff I seem to be experiencing this time, it was a very gentle medicine. Keep in mind that much of this could be the anxiety itself, maybe the lex just isnt doing much of anything this time (or yet).

no i didn't feel like this on celexa. Then again it didn't take away the anxiety either. So i realize this is a better situation it just feels wrong.

If you've only recently started taking Lexapro then t might be only a short-lived initial side-effect. OTOH, if you've been on it for more than a 4-6 weeks then you should discuss this with the prescribing doctor.

I've only been taking it for 2 weeks.  I actually am having a few more side effects on Lexapro than when I tried Celexa but I will wait a couple weeks. Like you said, if things don't improve time to tell my Psych.
