I had a biopsy on a wart/growth on my hand, I have to wait two weeks for results and I keep having a thought in my head that all that other stuff was anxiety but now this time it's real.  Do you guys ever think that way?  I had it last Thursday and the last four days have been really hard, I wake up thinking about it and googling consumes me.  Not to mention I'm getting conflicting info on google....go figure.

some believe the docs and med testing and some don't.

some find fault with the testing and some  go "whew, I dodged that bullet" and then a day or a week or a month later pick up a new disease to worry over.

that is the nature of the disorder.  Until we address the disorder we have, we are pretty much going to stay in mired in the muck.

as I've said, we anxious tend to try and solve our anxiety through endless reassurance and med testing.  of course that is like hiring a plumber to fix an electrical problem....

Having HA doesn't prevent nor cause nor protect us from diseases.  We are all human.  Which means we all can get sick.  All HA does is remove the joy from our lives.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

Having to wait for results is unbearable. Did they give you any indication about what it was?

Whatever you do, don't google. It'll drive you insane. You have to take the reality of the situation and try not to overthink it.

I agree with six pack - until you confront the disorder for what it is, it's going to be endless worrying, medical testing that never ends.

The dermatologist was very nice and said it was most likely a dermotafibroma.  The problem was I had picked at it so much you couldn't really tell.  I did ask about non pigmented melanoma and he said he didn't think it was that and my chances of it coming back as melanoma were 1 in 20 million.  I have had HA for 28 years, my first bout was when I was 6.  I have actually been doing pretty well with my anxiety, I would say I go through months without any and then when something stressful in my life occurs (in this case a divorce and new house) I start with my HA.  I haven't been to a doctor in quite some time but couldn't stop looking at this little 2mm growth on my hand.  So I went hoping he would laugh and say that little thing is nothing.  Instead he biopsied it.  :traurig001:  I've had it for a year and it really hasn't grown so I'm trying to keep busy and not worry.

Dermatologists tend to cut everything off just to be safe, in my experience!
