I think only you people will understand why I laughed at this

While flipping through some stuff on palinopsia (trying to figure out why mine is getting worse and if I can do anything about it), I found the notes I scribbled down after getting the results of my brain MRI 5 years ago.

"Nonspecific lesion of the something-or-other." Is it any wonder that I didn't make it to medical school like my mother wanted?   

But like any good hypochondriac, I did meticulously document the possible causes of it!  (Migraine, lyme disease, demyelinating diseases and/or small ischemic vessel disease, if you were wondering) and noted that I have naturally prominent lymph tissue on my left side...and made a note about getting tested for lymphoma.

What can you do but laugh at yourself?  And hey, that story had a mostly happy ending.  I never did follow up on my instinct to get tested for lymphoma, so I guess I was less crazy then ;) 

Hopefully my current brain tumor worries will  turn out to be just as unfounded, and 5 years from now I'll be laughing about it...

I fully understand!  Once a doctor asked me if I had considered medical school.  I have a very good memory and when I google I tend to absorb everything I read!

Yep, my therapist once said that my way of putting symptoms together and coming up with things was unlike any doctor she had ever seen (I'm sure she was exaggerating). But it's true, we study, research, and learn. I like to think I can hang with the best of them.  Not really a good quality though. I was a much happier person when I didn't know what my blood pressure numbers even meant.
