Day 2 of Venlafaxine
« on: February 08, 2013, 02:28:40 AM »
I'm taking a 37.5 mg pill twice a day and I feel like *****.  I know this will pass but god this is a nightmare.  Stayed up all night last night feeling wired, nauseated and overly anxious.  Tried to go running today but only could make it just over a mile before feeling like I was going to puke or pass out.  At work I was panicky, dizzy, light headed and miserable. Also, I have barely eaten a thing -- zero appetite.  God bless western medicine!

I'm taking a 37.5 mg pill twice a day and I feel like 0103.

I assume you are taking a generic immediate release form, not the XR extended release. If so, contact the prescribing doctor, explain how it is affecting you and ask if you can cut the tablets in half for the first 7-10 days. Alternatively, if you can be prescribed the XR version.  DO NOT cut the tablets without getting the okay, especially if you are not sure which version you have.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all suggestions are general in nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
