Left sided ataxia worsening
« on: January 31, 2013, 02:21:21 PM »
My left side continues to be numb, weak and clumsy...doctors thought it was most probably a medication side effect...currently coming off the wellbutrin that was thought to be the culprit.  I'm trying not to let anxiety get the better of me, but it's hard when an entire side of your body doesn't want to cooperate.  Hard to ignore.  This sucks.  I go through days of feeling upbeat and believing the doctors and living my life...and then days like this where it just seems impossible that it's not a brain tumor or something else catastrophic.  How can an entire half of my body not working right be no big deal, etc.  Feeling discouraged and scared.

Also have burning in part of left hand and lips and tongue on left side...extremely painful.  Again, trying to ignore but not going so well.

Having a harder and harder time typing - fingers just won't hit the right keys on the left (by right I mean "correct," not the direction, just realized that sounded weird)...guess at least this will make it easier to resist the urge to google...

My arm and leg feel "dead" all the time now.  Little to no feeling in left fingertips.  Don't understand how anxiety could affect just one side.

you've seen a doctor about this right?  did your doctor call it ataxia or is that your diagnosis?  If, indeed, it is your doctor saying you have ataxia, how was it dx'd and what are the doctor's plans to address the ataxia?

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
