Zoloft - headaches
« on: January 31, 2013, 04:39:32 AM »
Hey all

So today is day 28 of taking zoloft (50mg) for me and I have noticed an improvement.  I have been out of work for 6 weeks with my anxiety and just started back on Tuesday.  I was ok the first day but yesterday and today I have had a slight headache,  not a usual headache but I notice that its there. I find it worse when I am concentrating on something. I am at a computer screen all day,  but never really had this problem before.

I also get what I describe as shooting pains in my head that last for a fee secs through out the day. Being the person I am, I am starting to worry about what it might be, im surr you all know what in thinking! !

I am also very tired but im guessing im adjusting to getting bk into work!

I really despise HA, I'm sick of jumping to worst case scenarios!
I forgot to take my pill at thr usual time yday, so took it 12 hours later (7pm instead of am) I wonder if that affected it as that's when the headaches started..

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Thanks

Taking a zoloft dose late used to cause a lot of symptoms in me - not early on in treatment, but later on down the line, but still, I imagine it's different for everyone.  For me it was sweating, extreme fatigue and dizziness, but headaches are extremely common with antidepressants.  So it's my roundabout way of saying, I would guess that it's related to being late with your medication.

i'm on an increase of zoloft and after years of taking it, i can completely relate to your headache.

dizzy, headache, seemingly worse if i don't take my pill around the same time.

tell yourself positive things:  it's only the medication's side effects, that means it's working, i'm already doing better, i'm not even at full therapeutic level yet...

i'm there now myself.

Headaches are a common antidepressant side-effect, but equally it could have been caused by something else, including stress from returning to work. The brain doesn't have any pain receptors so headaches are not usually a sign of brain disease.
