Neuroreplete? anyone use it?
« on: January 28, 2013, 05:20:29 PM »
I was turned onto neuroreplete by my PCP.  Its the precursor amino acids that help to elevate serotonin levels.  They are thought to be safe, even when used with SSRIs.

Has anyone used them?  Care to share your experiences?

See: Serotonin: The 'chemical imbalance' myth and my last 3 posts in this thread.

By whom? Every SSRI monograph (example) expressly warns that taking the amino acid L-Tryptophan with the SSRI may cause serotonin syndrome which can be fatal. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) the serotonin precursor in NeuroReplete is a metabolite of L-Trypophan and has about 10 times the serotonergic effect of that amino acid.

Wow, good stuff.  Thank you for posting the links.  My PCP must hold to the belief seratonin shortage is to blame for the cause of my anxiety.  He's used Neuroreplete on it's own and with concurrent use of SSRIs.  I trust him so I will try it.  I will try to remember to report back the good, bad or ugly.

Then find a new one. Seriously.
