Fear of driving on expressways?

Does anyone else share this phobia?  Sometimes - not always - I have a panic attack while driving on the expressway.  It's not the speed of the car, I think it's related to the "I can't pull into a safe place if I start to have a panic attack".   A bit like my fear of flying... there's no place to go if you do have an attack.

It's almost always in the mornings... on my way home from work I can (almost always) take the expressway with no issues.

Yea I get them sometimes, especially with traffic. But I just cope with it. Nothing special. I just go into it expecting it, and look at it as a challenge and I hop in the car and drive.

I haven't driven on a highway for years due to this fear.  It's where I've had my most intense panic attacks and I'm worried I'm going to pass out at the wheel and potentially really hurt or 0473 or others.

I am 33 and don't have a license because I have a fear of driving. When I have practiced in the past, I always feel out of control. I was doing good about 6 years ago and while practicing, I had a minor accident. Ever since then I am afraid to try again.

I am 26 and do not have my licence due to fear of driving. It seems like no matter how much my husband gets me to practice, it's horribly unpleasant every time and never seems to get better. Good for you for pushing through your fear and doing it anyways!

I'm 29. I have my license but have not really driven in years. I few months ago my husband and I bought a car and had to return the car we had been borrowing over 70 miles away, which meant I had to drive one there. We took the expressway and I was so tense the whole time, by the time we arrived and I could finally relax my body felt like I had been beat up. I was sore for days! It was horrible.
