My take on Klonopin
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:16:50 PM »
I've read a lot of posts here... it seems Klonopin is one of the more controversial meds when it comes to treating my anxiety.  For me it's been more than a positive... it gave me my life back.  I've been on the exact same dosage (.5 mg, 2x daily) for almost 20 years.  I've never felt a need to increase the dose or frequency.

From the very first day - the first hour - I noticed an incredible reduction in my anxiety level.  I used to suffer from frequent panic attacks... I've only had a few in the past 20 years.  I also suffered from agoraphobia and was becoming more and more of a recluse; Klonopin helped tremendously with that as well.

I know every drug doesn't work for everyone, and that withdrawing from Klonopin is very difficult.  Still, I thank God that I went to the right doctor who prescribed it to me... I've been able to raise a family and have a successful career... I couldn't have done these things in the past.

I still have trouble flying, but that's another issue!  :)

Hello! I am glad it has help you so immensely. I had no such luck with it, although it did make me slightly tired. I'm currently seeking something else; we shall see.

Glad to hear a positive outcome for you taking the med.  Anxiety runs in our family and my sister has been taking a daily dose for years and continues to work in an important position.  The med helps her to function.  She understands the dependency issue and does not up her dose.  I take it as needed and found a low dose alleviates  panic when I get locked in to my anxious mind.  Take care
