Bloated all the time :(
« on: December 12, 2007, 12:07:22 PM »
I feel bloated all the time now.
I'm really worried about OC again.  I wake up feeling ok but as the day goes on I start to bloat and get gas. I was never like this before :(
Somedays I have so much gas it hurts. My cloths feel tight by the end of the day.
Really worried again. Could this just be IBS?????????

OMG!!!!!!!
I have all the symptoms for Ovarian cancer.  I just got the new Pervention magazine today and guess what page I opened it up to?
You guessed it . It was about OC . I have all the symptoms it said to look out for:
1: Pelvic or abdominal Pain
2: Bloating and having difficulty eating
3: Having to urinate often or feeling an urgent need to go

OMG  I have all those problems
I'm so freaking scared right now!!!!!!!

Wow
This board is pretty dead when I'm having a full blown panic attack about ovarian cancer. Where is everyone????
I need someone to help me calm down. I've convinced myself that I'm dying of OC. I symptom searched and the first thing to pop up from my symptoms were OC.

Is there any women on here who have fibroids??? if so what are there symptoms????

Hi, hope you're feeling better.

You do know better than to symptom search though!!!  We can't help you if you're not willing to help yourself.

As I keep saying, symptom searching will NEVER make you feel better or alleviate your concerns.  It will only make you feel worse!

You don't have Ovarian cancer.... these are symptoms of IBS.  But go to the doctor to make yourself feel better!

I've had all those symptoms lately. I'm a guy.

Which means ovarian cancer is far from the only cause for them!

Thanks for the replies

I woke up this morning still in a full blown panic over this ovarian cancer. I'm to terrified to go to the doctor.
I do know that I have fibroids and they do case some of the same symptoms as OC But I just can't get the cancer out of my mind. Fibroids don't kill so I don't really worry about them BUT what if these symptoms are not the fibroids but the OC. That would mean I have advanced OC already and there is nothing for me to do.
I'm starting my down ward spiral into hell again and I don't know how to stop it. I'm so terrified that this time I'm right and I do have cancer and I'm dying.

sometimes the only way to feel okay is by going to see the doctor.  if this is going to eat away at you, make that appt and tell the gyno your worries.  they will know what to do from there and will put your mind at ease.
im sure you are fine... :happy0151:

mk,
I also think this is classic IBS, which I have, so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms.  I generally experience painful bloating, gas, and sometimes nausea whenever I eat foods high in fat, or when I'm especially anxious.  Also, because I'm a woman, it is particularly bad around the time of my period each month.
I hope the doctor puts your mind at ease.  Good luck!

That is easier said then done for me.:(  I use to go to the doctors for every little thing in the past. You could say I lived at my doctors office. :(
But now things have changed. I'm now so terrified in going to the drs. I'm so scared of a cancer diagnoses that I wont go in to see my doctor.
I know I'm being stupid but I just can't seem to get myself into his office. I can just see his face and him telling me I have to go for more tests and then telling me I have advanced ovarian cancer. And the thing is that ovarian cancer is the silent killer so if I already have symptoms that means that it's already advanced  :traurig001:

no your not being stupid at all. i am with ya in that i hate the doctors office, the dentist office, and sometimes even the psychologists office, hee.  but really i know it is so hard and i too procrastinate when it comes to calling the doctor, it is all fear based.  (in fact i need to call the dr back and i have already waited two days to do it.lol.)
im sending you good thoughts here in the hopes that you will find the comfort you need.  :sad0126:

This is one of my fears as well.  Try to remember that all of your symptoms can also be attributed to IBS.  The one thing I have read everytime I have googled OC is that it always says that "more than likely these symptoms are not OC".  Try to get yourself into the doctor.  You haven't said how old you are, but I doubt you have OC.  At times when I'm in my "OC mode" I try to remember that most of my symptoms I've had for years and more than likely I would have already had that diagnosis if I had it for years.

Easier said than done I know(today has been hard for me), but try to relax

Thanks Eva

I'm 41 . Since I turned 40 my health anxiety has gone through the roof. I figure I'm at the age where all the cancers I fear are going to get me. Ovarian cancer being my number one fear and then breast , colon, brain........

Hey I'm 44, so I know what you mean.  I look at my health completely different since I turned 40.  I also have the same fears as you.  I think there are times when I force myself to be rational and then somehow the symptoms disappear.  Try to remember the last time you didn't feel this way and then force yourself to hold onto that time.  You'll see that most of your symptoms will disappear.  I try to remind myself that if I had OC the symptoms would be constant and get worse, not come and go every couple of weeks.  But I also know the fear and it can be hard to let it go, but we have to try.

Hope you are feeling better.  I just wanted to add that my mom has worked in an OB/GYN office for 25 years so she has seen it all.  I went through the oc scare last year because I always get bloated and get gas, like you do, and ALSO felt a lump in my lower left belly that really hurt.  I found out I had a large cyst on my ovary and freaked out!  My mom told me that there have only been a VERY few number of women come in to her office that were diagnosed with oc.  She said they would be extremely bloated for months and it never went away. So bloated that they had to buy a few size larger pants because of this.  They looked pregnant.
Your symptoms sound just like IBS.  As the day goes on, gas and bloating develop.  It becomes uncomfortable and its hard to release the gas.  My morning it is either gone or all your gas is finally passing.  The frequent urination is either due to anxiety or because you are bloated and causing more pressure on your bladder. IBS gets worse with anxiety!!
