MSG Sensitivity?
« on: May 14, 2006, 08:34:35 PM »
I've been looking up stuff on msg (monosodium glutamate) sensitivity.  It used to be called chinese restaurant syndrome.  One of the symptoms is chest pain.  (one of my favorite anxiety related problems)  It's an amino acid, so they can pass it off as "natural flavoring" now.  Since it's an amino acid, it can affect your neurotransmitters.  It can especially affect the hypothalamus.  That's where the fight or flight thing comes from.  Supposedly taking 50 mg of B6 a day can make you less sensitive to it.  I'm definitely going to try it!  There's so many people suffering from anxiety disorders now, maybe it really could be all the junk we're putting in our bodies that's just not supposed to be there.

Anyway,  I thought all this was interesting and just wanted to share.   :)

I hope everyone is well!  Happy mother's Day!
