Stress? "Illness" progressing? Or finally made myself sick!???
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:34:19 AM »
I'm completely losing it!!  I have posted on here several times about my current fear of sinus "C".  It's all I think about.  I went to the ENT and had a nasal endoscopy two weeks ago, and he said he didn't see anything much going on in there.  He said I could either go for a CT scan or take a round of heavy antibiotics.  I chose the med's.  Just finished 2 weeks and there is zero change.
For the past week I have been stressed beyond words.  It's the worst it's ever been.  This thing is ALWAYS on my mind.
Everyday I feel nauseaus and dizzy, like vertigo.  I chalked it up to whatever is simultaneously going on with my ears.  But yesterday it was like all of my regular everyday symptoms were extremely exaggerated.  I actually fainted too and felt so nauseous and completely and utterly drained.   Just exhausted.

Now my mom and hubby have me really worried, they wanted me to go to emerg last night.  Is this just stress?  Is it what I'm fearing and now it's spreading?  Or have I stressed myself out so badly for so long that I have actually created an illness??  I'm so scared right now.

I also start my first session of psychotherapy today.  Fingers crossed it works!!!
I really wanted to go into therapy knowing that I'm physically healthy first.  I hope I can move forward with the unknown!!

Please, anyone!!  Can anyone give me encouragement?  Advice?  Is this serious?  :fragend005:
Thanks for reading my rant  :traurig001:   :(

I don't think you can create an illness.  I would listen to the ENT and work on your anxiety.

I hope not.  Everyone around me keeps reminding me of the "like attracts like" and "thoughts become things".  I get that, and maybe this time they're right??
Thanks, gcalex for your reply.  I do intend on working on it.  Just wish I knew for sure before heading into therapy this afternoon...

Well if the mind is that powerful that it can create a disease, then it should be able to create wellness too, no?  I think in general people with a great deal of stress and anxiety are more vulnerable to illness (over time), but I don't think we can just create a specific disease by fearing it, no.
