This could be allergies or just the fumes from the chemicals in the salon. I know that when I walk by a hair or nail salon, the smell is intense. I dint know how the workers can take it. Then again, my nose is sensitive because of migraines.

Sinuses can affect you, even if they haven't before. This year I had an almost constant ear issue because my sinuses continued draining into my ear due to weed and grass pollen. I have never had allergies before in my life. The human body can react to anything at any time. Its dynamic so just because it hasn't happened before, it certainly can be happening now. Sinus issues can also become chronic so that would explain why it comes and goes.

The dizzy/off feeling is what makes my anxiety radar go up. The feeling your describing is one I have had many times before due to anxiety. I have felt off and like my head is disconnected somehow. It is a very difficult feeling to describe but its sort of like a combo of dizzy, faint, disconnected, wobbly, generally out of it feeling. I have felt this so many times before and it is scary but its totally anxiety related. Especially since you mention it seems to be vision related. A lot of people with anxiety get that visual motion related dizzy feeling.

Well I'm another person who is going through the same situation as you too. I have the chronic sinus/ear issues. I just officially got diagnosed about 3 weeks ago, and have been on antibiotic and a special nasal rinse since then. They also sent me to vestibular rehab therapy for the inner ear stuff. They work with you on retraining your body to balance, your eye gaze, etc. I'm starting to feel a difference, but if all of this doesn't work, it may require a minor surgery on the sinuses. Which, if it will make me feel better, I'm all for at this point! I'm also working with an allergist/immunologist to try and figure out the cause, but so far we haven't found it.

When I went to the ENT, I didn't even know I had sinus issues until he told me, and confirmed with a CT scan. The ears were tested with a hearing test, followed by a test called VNG. There are also things they can do to specifically help the vertigo if you are experiencing that.

I also have a lot of separate symptoms from the ones I get from the sinus stuff (which like you is dizziness, vertigo, vision issues, headaches, fatigue). So I know I definitely have two things going on. They both make each other worse. It sounds like you may be in the same boat.

Hang in there. I know exactly how you feel. I also work at a job where I'm up all day and working with people, and have two little ones at home. I often wonder if other people can tell since I'll feel so off balance, or my hands are shaking as well. But, for myself I stay positive by thinking it could always be worse. I was so convinced for months that I had MS, this is like nothing lol. Just go in here in a couple of weeks, get your evaluations done, and be prepared to do whatever is needed. That's all we can do!

yes i too was very convinced i had MS...my dad has it, i know its not genetic but everytime i look up symptoms(as i know i shouldnt) it all comes up at MS.....right now alot of the feeling have subsided just a bit...what i deal with now is a burning sensation behind my right eye, temple pain, ear pain...and the same visual vertigo when i look down to cut hair...this morning i woke u and my right eyelid was swollen and that pain int he back of my head on the right side was there again altho not as intense as it was before. The eye doctor was sure the pain t he back of my head has to do with the sinus, i kinda wonder if its not muscle tension because i'd pulled my neck bad which they said was as bad as whiplash a few months ago and that pain came along with it........its just so frusterating...and i also wonder too if clients notice im "off"....i hurry thru haircuts and thankfully i've been doing it for 14 years so im good....there's no issues..but i dont spend alot of time visiting like i normally would and anxiously await tthem to call my name again for another cut, praying this time i wont feel dizzy and weird.....it scares me so bad....and i know my anxiety makes it worse...i get up every morning and take a claritin and half a .5 klonapin....that mixture seems to help somewhat...i just want help...and for it to leave me alone for once in 9months....i see the ENT feb 14th.........

I totally relate on how you feel frustrated by the forum.  I've felt that as well the last few posts I made.

Now as far as your sinus issues and symptoms, I can relate to those a lot as well.  I have bad sinus problems and experience most of those symptoms which you mentioned as well.  Have you tried sinus washes with a neti pot?  I notice that when I am consistent with this (2x a day), it makes a huge difference in my symptoms.  The doctor also prescribed me Flonase to take after I do these washes and it seems to be helping.  Another suggestion is maybe seeing if you have an inner ear infection?  I've had those before and for some reason they seem to be harder for them to diagnose, but I had bad vertigo with mine, never really ear pain.  It might be worth seeing an allergy specialist too if you think you might have allergies contributing to your problem.

Just wanted to let you know you're not alone and give a few suggestions!  Hope you get some answers soon!

Well to ME what started the whole mess was in Jan of last year i got a severe cold, but was a newly single mom, poor and didnt get it taken care of

Got a couple of ocular migraines early summer but the sinus trouble had remained before and after but didnt think nothing of it because i'd never had bad sinus problems...

started having bad visual vertigo or double vision after the migraines started with alot of headaches on that one side of my face, bak of my head and behind my eye

found out i had an impacted ear in august, had it removed and was givin antibiotics

right after that started to actually feel normal, no more headaches, and vertigo gone

pulled my neck severely a week later

lots of head pain, ear pain you name it immediatly after

went back to the doc for the pain and found out i had double ear infections..bad ones

took augmentin and sinus sprays

ears just didnt want to heal, and they did a cat scan said my ethmoid? sinus was thickened and infammed which they said would cause the vision problems and vertigo

got a shot of steriods and a shot of antibiotic about a month ago

i feel alot better since then, but this has gone on so long..one doc said my right ear looks like it has scarring

but i just keep waking up fine, then standup and the pressure behind my eyes start again, look in the  mirror my right eye lid is swollen a bit and still have that vision, is what i would call it, warpy verttigo type stuff

like when i look down it does it, or i get a hard head rush every here and t here after taking my flonase.

the eye doc said my right pupil was like a pin prick size, double vision and my eyes aren't tracking together correctly...and thats from all the pressure..that was BeforE the shots..actually the same day....so it WASN"T in my head. Then i read that those symptoms are rare and extreme.....so now im even more scared.

but he did mention my anxiety problems...i thought i seemed pretty calm..maybe he can see it in my eyes?? lol i dont know

but the constant burning in the back of my head on the right side could be from that massive pulll, OR sinus..not real sure....i get so nervous and scared its taking my life over
everytime i get called for a haircut i panic and pray i dont feel weird or unstable.

sometimes i just think im losing my mind..because really? who stays sick THis long?????  all along this time trying to come up with something to tell my boyfriend and famil.y ....which as eventually made me sound like a head case i've been told...and im like "all i was trying to do was tell you what the doctors told me...i can't help they may have been wrong? so yeah there's alot of diff diagonosis but im not making it up" .....altho.....now...i think everyone thinks i am...even my boyfriend said he bets the ENT doesn't find anything =(

In 2007, I had these strange head sensations, like something was crawling on the top of my head.
I went to the ENT physician, as I had a sore throat anyway and he was nice enough to order an MRI
of the brain with and without contrast; all came back normal. My doctor told me that tension in your back,
shoulders and neck can cause all sorts of odd head sensations, such as tingling, burning, pain, etc.
