Medication
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:05:25 PM »
Hello, I'm new to this site. :)

I have GAD and also BDD, I've had GAD since I was a child but was only diagnosed when I turned 16. i've been prescribed Citalopram, Fluoxetine and also Pregabalin. I've been taking Pregabalin for over a year now and if anything, I'e felt myself become worse rather than better. Suicidal Ideation has become a huge problem over the last 6 months of which a psychiatrist informed me was due to depression, which is why they decided to prescribe me Fluoxetine. I have tried CBT and also EMDR, but nothing works.

I often think that there is an underlying diagnosis, though that could be me merely being paranoid.

I've recently come across research that suggested that Olanzapine could possibly work?- I would genuinely try anything at this stage, since every day is a struggle. Would anyone perhaps recommend that I investigate this route further, or do you suppose another way, if so, what?

Because I don't think I can go through this feeling every single day of every minute of my life for much longer, I sound so mellow dramatic and rather pathetic, so I do apologise, it's just so hard sometimes.

Hi,

Glad you came by . . . I will not be much help as I am not familiar with the medications that you are taking but I did want to reassure you that you are not being "mellow dramatic" and you definitely are * not * pathetic so there is no need to apologize . . . right now, you are in such a tough situation but you are working to find a solution by coming here . . . although I cannot give you any type of insights into the meds, I know that there are folks here who are so knowledgeable that I am sure someone will be able to help direct you in your research  . . . .

Please know that we understand about the struggle that happens on a daily basis so you are not alone and yes, jethbones, it is hard but please hang in there . . . .please come back here and know that we will support you in whatever fashion we can . . . . take care, KC
