I agree with you. It's just so hard not to do that since I have all these symptoms. The doctor didnt know I had a bad tooth and the dentist didnt know that I had all these swollen glands. So maybe the problem went unnoticed. I woke up with chest pain this morning and i'm so scared the infection moved to my heart. The chest pain wasn't severe but was a little sudden and when it happened felt like it moved in waves. If that makes sense. That's the only way I can describe it. I'm so scared that's the infection moving through my heart. The chest pain is still there but comes and goes. I am terrified. I am on antibiotics but I started them on Monday and i'm worried that it was too late for whatever infection was already in my body and had been a whole month.

Update! I'm on my way home now from getting my teeth out. I had 5 teeth taken out, the 3 wisdoms I had and 2 decaying ones. I've been waiting for this day for so long! I told tem about my runny nose and congestion and the oral surgeon wouldn't put me to sleep. He said it way too dangerous because of the breathing issues. So...I had 5 teeth pulled with just being numbed. I was so upset because I had finally braced myself to be put to sleep and then they wouldn't do it. I was so mad thinking I would have to wait another month to get an appointment. Then the surgeon came in and said if I was okay wih it then he could take them all out anyways so I decided to. And to my surprise (never been more surprised or wrong about anything) they weren't infected. None of them. Not even the one way up in my gums... "Told you so" lol. But I am so relieved. So happy these are out after years of carrying tem around and after months of worrying about them. Like... I am so happy right now!!

I want to thank each and every person that posted on this and who talked to me through this stressful journey. Thank you for reading my posts even when they were irrational. Thank you for comforting me, for giving me advice and opinions and most of all for reachin out to me and caring for a complete stranger on te Internet. I really mean it.

Now all my bad teeth are gone. (Except one that may be able to be saved.) and all I have left to do is get a few very small cavities filled. So much relief right now.

And if anyone is reading this and is worrying about a tooth problem, I promise there is hope. I'm living proof. Your body will tell you when you need to take action.. But don't let it get that far. Take care of stuff before it gets bad. Trust me. Thank you guys again.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

That's great news!  Glad this trauma is finally over for you.

Now, did your dentist talk about replacing the teeth he took out?  Which ones were they?

We're not going to replace them because three were my wisdom teeth and two were teeth in the very back beside my wisdom teeth so i'm not too worried about that. If it was a tooth closer to the front I definitely would want to. And who know, maybe some day I will look into replacing even the back ones. But for now I am happy like this :) and thanks everyone!

Good outcome. I hope you can see that your reaction to this potential problem was not in line with the actual risk. Trust me honey, I have been there. And am there quite often. I freak, absolutely freak, about things sometimes. When I thought I had MS I ended up admitted into the mental hospital. But, I started working on my anxiety, and now I can handle those things better. Not great in all situations, but better than in the past. I would recommend seeking out a therapist and a psychiatrist for your anxiety. That is the real issue here and hopefully now that you have gotten past the tooth issue, you can start working on it. Best wishes!
