I know there has been some discussion on here about pms and anxiety. Just wondering if any of you think that hormone shifts are what is causing the symptoms which in turn sets the anxiety in motion? I have a 4 month old son and everything went into high gear after his birth. I'm getting a little better now but definitely notice amped up symptoms right before my period (dizziness/lightheadedness is bad) but I never had this problem before having him. I'm wondering if it's ever goin to go away?

Absolutely.  And being pregnant and having a child doesn't even need to be a part of this.  Just hormones in general can raise havoc ..... perimenopause and menopause are the next ones to look forward to.

Definitely. Sometimes the only time I have an anxiety attack is right before my period. Instead of getting cranky, I get really anxious.

oh for sure.  I cannot no way, no how take birth control or other hormones because i get even more worried than I am now...as if that were possible. The panic attacks and anxiety are horrendous.  Just something else to make us glad that we're girls.

Oh and not to mention post-partum depression...I wonder if there is post-partum anxiety?  Bet there is!

Thanks for the feedback! Penny panic, there is definitely such thing as post part um anxiety but I think it usually gets misdiagnosed as post part um depression (as in my case). Iza.idea, so glad to hear you're doing better. Gives me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I would definitely describe the last 4 months as a living hell :(
