Anyone know signs of diabetis?

Can someone tell me some symptoms of diabetis? As people on here have probably seen ive been terrified of hiv symptoms, well I do have my drs appointment coming up but Ive noticed how a lot of the symptoms seem to cross with diabetis symptoms too. Ive had some frequent urination (i drink about 24ozs of water an hour tho,always have). ive been eating everything in site and dont seem to be gaining weight. im not really losing weight either. sometimes my eyes hurt and vision is blurry. comes and goes. Worst thing was I just woke up earlier today and my right foot was pounding in pain. Like it fell asleep is how I can explain it. Which when I walked it out it was fine in about 2 minutes. My bowell movements are not as frequent but are still at least once a day and are solid. I know TMI, sorry.  My question is can anyone tell me some symptoms and what to think?

I'm not going to tell you signs of diabetes or you'll come down with them all! 

With all that drinking, that's why you're peeing.  Nothing you're describing is a symptom of anything but being alive.  Eating everything in sight and not gaining weight is a little unusual, but it's not a red flag either.  Your eyes hurting and being blurry is probably dry eye; diabetic eye problems are nerve related.  I don't think they tend to hurt, they just stop working as the nerves degenerate.

I will tell you this, though.  My girlfriend was diabetic until recently and a close friend of mine remains one (has been since childhood).  If you're diabetic, the signs make themselves known.  You feel like complete crap.  You'd be drinking compulsively because you'd be peeing out everything, not just the water you don't need in your body, and you'd feel like you'd taken a bite out of the sun.  I asked my friend about this once, because I was worried about diabetes, and she was like, no...seriously, if you were diabetic, you wouldn't be quietly thinking, huh, I wonder if something could be wrong with me.

tthanks Molly, i cant wait for this checkup. My father and pretty much everyone on his side of the fam is diabetic and thats my concern. I am too scared to ask him tho because I dont want him to worry about anything. Not until I get my check up at least which is wednesday. Thanks for not telling me the symptoms lol. im doing my very best not to google.

The goods new is even if you are diabetic, it's pretty easy to manage and can even be reversed in some people!  So really, no need to stress out.

Right now my right foot keeps falling asleep. Its weird.
And the only reason im stressed is because im scared if its not diabetis its hiv. just going off symtpoms. Im gonna be a wreck the next few days til this appointment.

I don't see how you're getting HIV from any of this!  If you're eating and not gaining weight, you could just have a normally high metabolism.  If it's unusual for you, maybe it's hormonal.  Or just one of those things.  A foot falling asleep means a nerve compression, probably just from how you're sitting.  Numbness can also be caused by anxiety.

My foot didnt fall asleep at all last night. The hiv thing is a longer story and just kind of everything added up. Thats where that came from. So how did your girlfriend reverse the diabetis? better diet? exercise?

Actually you can have early stage diabetes with no symptoms.  It's simple enough to test for, get a fasting blood sugar done, or you can even test it yourself.

my dad tested my blood about 3 weeks ago just cause I asked him. I was at like 105. He has the little finger pricker.

Was 105 fasting or just during the day?

that was after like a full day of eating and doing everything I usually do. he took it at night at like 10pm. but no i didnt fast at all.

my biggest worry was ccaused by my legs. They have been a bit more sore in my calf area and than I have a line of blood under my big toe on my right foot. the same foot that falls asleep. I know these are symptoms as well. I do have an ingrown nail on that foot tho that could cause that. I guess every cause has an explanation.
