Suddenly hurts to swallow anything
« on: January 12, 2013, 07:51:42 PM »
I was about to try and get some sleep when this symptom turned up. My throat feels tight and I am shivering. I understabd both symptoms are related to anxiety, however my throat greatly hurts in the centre whenevr I swallow. It's so sudden, and is accompanied by difgiculty swallowing and shortness of breath feelings. I'm scared to fall asleep like this in case my throat closes over!!

If it helps I currently take Omeprazole. Any advice please?! ^^;

If your throat closes over it'll surely wake you up ;)  Are you well hydrated?  Is dry mouth or eyes a side effect of your medications?

I'm very hydrated of late, so much so that my.bladder kept me awake instead. I have however woken up dizzy and with palpatations; the throat pain is still there too :( Omeprazole doesn't cause those side effects either.

Maybe you have a canker sore.  Or just, you know, a sore throat.  It's the season for colds and whatnot.
