Hi,

I am not a doctor so I am speaking only from personal experience . . . .it sounds as if you have either a viral or bacterial respiratory infection (in other words, a cold) . . . if it is a virus, in my experience, it will run its course in about 5 days . . . . but, since it has already been 3 days and you are not feeling any better, then check it out with a doctor . . .

If its a bacterial infection and you are taking antibiotics (I am assuming that these medications were prescribed by a doctor), then the antibiotics should help you get over the infection . . . if the antibiotics were not prescribed by a doctor who has seen you, then you need to see a doctor . . .. different antibiotics are prescribed for different types of infections and the dose of the antibiotics is done given the stage of the infection, etc. Also, only your doctor can tell you have you have a cold or an infection . . .

In the meantime, drink loads of fluids (if possible, hot tea with lemon or honey or both but make sure you drink fluids) and rest and eat very easily digested foods. . .. please, though, do not wait to see a doctor . . . .take care, KC
