Inhaled food into lungs?

Last night I took a deep breath as I was swallowing a piece of bread, I felt a small crumb quickly entering my throat and going downwards but I did not have any coughing reflex.
Then I started voluntarily coughing a lot but nothing came up, after like 30 minutes of coughing I started feeling like there is something sharp in my throat.
Now I'm worried there is a crumb in my lungs.
Should I stop worrying about this and forget what happened?
Can lungs dissolve small pieces of food or do they always need to be surgically removed?

I'm not a doctor, but personally I wouldn't worry.  Many people have done, this including me.  I remember many years ago eating borscht soup and a piece of cabbage went into my lungs.  I'm fine today.  I'm not sure of the mechanism, but there is something called cilia (or silia) in the lungs that help get rid of stuff.

It's been a few days and I haven't had any significant pains or breathing difficulties, I get a bit nervous while eating food now though, anyone else experienced that?
