Flu shot
« on: January 10, 2013, 09:37:27 PM »
Well I have been scared of the news talking about the flu epidemic so I stopped by CVS and got a flu shot tonight. Now I am worried because I am nervous about vaccines because they say they have all these chemicals in them. And that some people can get cancer like lyphoma from it. I am scared that I am going to wake up in a few days and have swollen lymph nodes and have lymphoma or some other type of cancer. I never have vaccines at least not since I was a child. I got this one because I am terrified of the flu, because healthy people can die from it plus I had it two years ago and it was the worst thing ever. Anyone have any comforting thoughts?

Struggled on and off since I was 13 (27 now) with health anxiety and OCD. Current episode has been going since December 2011. Praying that it will end soon and I can go back to normal life.

Millions of people get flu shots.  You're going to be fine.  Meanwhile, a healthy young girl I knew just passed away after the flu she contracted turned nasty.  Much better to take the vaccination risk.

I think the bigger question is whether they work.  There are some pretty respectable studies saying they are of very limited use.  But the danger seems extremely small, I wouldn't think twice about that aspect of it.

There are preservative free flu injections with no additves or mercury I would check for those.

Dr. Mercola is certainly not a mainstream doctor, but this is what he has to say, for anyone interested.

I appreciate the Mercola insight. I always appreciate the counter-perspective from the mainstream media.

Mercola makes a lot of money being anti-mainstream. I used to like him, but now find him not credible.
