It's exactly like that until you start taking benzos for a while but if you don't treat the anxiety now it will get worse in the future

Yea I was a perfectly normal, social guy until I had a panic attack due to smoking weed. Since then I have had horrible anxiety. AnxietyJoe could you expand on your post about taking benzos? I never have

My 1st panic attack was at nearly 150 beats per min.i had few attacks before my anxiety disorder developed.it sucks  the symptoms are excessive worrying where before you did not worry about. This feeling of restlessness  racing thoughts from 1 to another worrying about nothing the older I'm geting more anxious. my body is responding with pains  from burning leg feet pains , left arm tingling, back pain all over  from upper to lower. From both sides and sometimes on just 1 side ,moderate abdominal pain on belly button area, excessive gas and mod abdominal cramps,I refuse to take anti depressants because they make it worse. Like prozac zoloft  lately I starting taking magnesium citrate by natural calm it helps with anxiety and digestive issues I've taken ct scans to rule out anything serious

My anxiety was more manageable before my first panic attack about two years ago.  After my first panic attack I developed physical symptoms I never had before.  I was dizzy, dp, dr, racing thoughts, insomnia, and the fear of another attack.  I thought I was developing some serious mental illness and this in turn game me more anxiety.  I developed visual disturbances as well such as floaters and visual snow.  The visual snow was mild but after my first panic attack it became worse.  it seems as though the panic attack was the peak of my anxiety; something like a foundation in which all the physical symptoms developed.  My personal choice was to battle it without any addicting meds. I'm better now but it's been an uphill battle.  Wish you good luck on you recovery.

Jamie, I developed anxiety / OCD after my 1st panic attack over a year ago.... Up until then I was very "normal" and active.... Now I have dp / dr and some physical symptoms of lightheadedness and feelings where I could go crazy but never do... I've decided not to use meds to treat mine due to my past experience with trying 2 different meds and I could not get past the side effects.  I currently am in therapy, I exercise and do a lot to keep my mind occupied. There are some books out there too I'm exploring the power of now by eckhart tolle and I have the anxiety and phobia workbook.

Overall I've noted more good days rather then bad, but when the bad hit, own it and know it will pass by as they always do.

I have always had anxiety I didnt realise i had anxiety until i started having panic attacks. It was terrible i had no idea what was happening to me. After i found out what it was, i had a big relief. But it did start a fear anxiety sympots which leads to anxiety. A lot of people talk of fighting anxiety. Personally i try to let the feelings wash over me and tell myself that is what it is just symptoms as a result of my inner thoughts and it is fixing to pass.
It works more me very well in bringing down my anxiety.
