Zoloft.....increasing dosage question.
« on: January 09, 2013, 06:29:49 AM »
I'm restarting Zoloft again after being off all meds for a year.
Started very low last Sat. with 6.25 mg. When is a good time
to increase to 12.5 (a half of a 25mg tablet)? Do you think the side
effects will be intense cuz they've been very minimal so far.
Thx!

It takes about 5 days for plasma levels of the drug to stabilize after each dose increase/decrease, so don't up the dose any faster. Maybe add a couple of days for confidence building.

There's no way of knowing. But the low doses should keep them to a minimum. You could probably have started on 12.5mg without problems.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.
