Ultrasound Tomorrow: I Need Your Prayers, Please...
« on: January 08, 2013, 05:18:14 PM »
... Well, my yearly ultrasound is tomorrow.
If my thyroid nodules have grown, they're out.

I'm so nervous.
Even scared.

I'm 22 and these were found at age 16.
2cm and 9mm.

I broke down and cried to my Husband.
I honestly am expecting the worse...
But, deep down -- I want the best.

I feel so alone.
I don't see these nodules being benign.

I'm hoping for a miracle.
... For a blessing.

I've been through so much.
I want to see a future with my family.
Sometimes, it's just hard.

Have you ever had a thyroid nodule(s)?
Yes? Please, lend me some advice. :'-(

I haven't had thyroid nodules and truthfully don't know much at all about them but I wanted to let you know I'll be thinking about ya. Let us know how it goes.

Thinking of you Brittany ......

So, what is the worst case scenario?  Removing your thyroid and going on medication?  Is that such a bad thing?  No more worries and feeling better? Think about it.  :-)

I have had a "lumpy" thyroid for years.  8 years ago my primary dr sent me for an ultrasound which showed numerous nodules on both sides.  was sent to and endo who in the 4 years I saw her did 3 biopsys that were always negative and put me on a low dose of synthroid.  the synthroid shrunk the nodules.  the doctors are not able to feel them anymore.  I have been off the medication now for 3years.  I will keep you in my prayers tonight that everything goes well tomorrow.

My mom had one; totally benign, no big thing.  Good luck!

You guys...

I just realized something.
Scary for me, actually.

I'm almost 23.
I've had this nodule for almost SEVEN years.

Makes me want to cry.
Keep thinking to myself:

"What if it's cancer? Seven years... imagine the possible deadly spread through-out my body."

Things is, I want to listen to everyone whom tells me to stop the worry.
Side note, what if I've been right all along? :-(

I know a lot of you feel as I do.
I wish only the best for you all, too. :-)

I will be praying for you-don't worry about it being cancer! Even if it is, that is the most survivable cancer, the chances of you not recovering are slim to none! You don't have cancer though-my mom is a Chronic alcoholic (for 30+years) and has had thyroid issues and no cancer. You are young, healthy, and strong. You body has its own way of healing and if a chronic alcoholic with 70% liver failure can still live you definitely will be fine. I don't know if that helps but keep in mind your ok!! Be optimistic.

Prayers your way! When things seem desperate, Catholics (don't have to be Catholic) ask for the prayers of St. Jude and St. Rita, the saints who specialize in seemingly impossible cases. Your case isn't impossible at all (you'll be just fine, don't worry), but when we feel desperate about anything, these are the two saints to call upon, to ask for their prayers. Take care and keep us posted! :)
