Appointment Time! Nervous as heck!!

I went to the dermatologist back in early October to have a mole checked out.  The dermatologist took it off (along with two others) because they looked a little out of the ordinary.  They were checked out and they were fine.  I had her check my upper torso last time...but I didn't have the courage for a full body check at the time...so I made an appointment to have one done.  Well...that time is now.  9:10 AM CST.  I am NERVOUS as heck!!  My anxiety in general has been bad enough, recently, and this just ramps it up.  Anyway...I'd appreciate the positive thoughts/energy that you all could send my way!!!

Hey Fenway, I have my yearly skin exam coming up at the first part of February and I totally get your fear. I dread going. I had some moles removed last year that also turned out to be fine. I hope and pray that your appointment went well today!

It went fine.  She checked me over and didn't find anything to worry about.  I pointed out two spots I didn't like.  She didn't think anything was wrong with them...but she took them off for me anyway.  I have to now wait for the results...and hopefully that won't be too stressful.  I'm glad I went.  It's good to have the peace of mind of actually having a professional look me over.  I know skin cancer is a common "fear" in the HA community...but it's one of those ailments that you can do something about: you can stay vigilant and you can get yearly screenings.  I'm sure you'll do just fine, too!

Glad you went and things went well. It is good to be proactive. It is always a fine balance of not running to the doctor, but being diligent to have check ups too. Hoping the results come quickly!

I go back-and-forth.  I have had periods where it seemed like I was running to the doctor every-other-week!  Last spring, for instance, I was there a lot.  It got to the point where I was almost embarrassed to go.  Luckily, my doctor is very understanding.  It's now been awhile since I saw him (though I have an appointment tomorrow...regular anxiety check-up).  Right now...I have a sort of "stew" of symptoms that are swirling around in my head.  I can't seem to focus on one...rather I keep moving from one to another...looking for ways to tie them together to fit one particular illness!!

I totally get the tying symptoms together. I think I am doing that now. With that said, I am actually headed to the doctor today. I have driven myself mad over a particular fear. I have to talk to someone who can give me some guidance.
