Need medication but post drug abuse :(
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:37:20 AM »
So basically I'm a whirlwind of problems and now have it down to just wanting to be able to be comfortable with myself. The problem is I used to get benzo's for my anxiety when I first started seeing a doctor but being naive I was never told the dangers until I had a seizure at the doctor's office from withdrawal. Now my file is quite lengthy and full of problems that scream druggie. I'm turning over a new leaf in life but anxiety has the best of me and I really wish I could get a medication that doesn't make me feel funny. I'm currently on Buspar and while it works it works but I start noticing things and it makes me have this weird feeling and sometimes I get brain shocks.

Probably the only medications your doctor is going to be comfortable prescribing is antidepressants. They can be highly effective, but some trial and error may be required to find the one which suits you best.

NOTE: I'm not a doctor, and particularly not yours, so there may be factors I'm unaware of. Therefore all advice is of a general nature and you should consult your doctor before following any of it, especially before changing med doses.

Considering I'll have panic attacks?

So do I. Antidepressants have effectively controlled them for nearly 26 years. My last one was about 20 years ago, the last time I stopped taking my antidepressant to see if I could manage without it. I did for about 3 months then wham.

No offense but in two to six weeks I'll be dead if they give me an anti-depressant.
