ALS fear over. On to brain tumor!
« on: January 07, 2013, 08:37:22 PM »
Well as many of you know already, I have been twitching since the first week in August. I went through I really horrible time of super high anxiety after googling twitching. I have now realized I DO NOT have ALS...i'm just a twitcher :-) I thought this anxiety thing was over until December 24, I got a headache. I rarely have headaches. Then, the next day I had another headache and have continued to get headaches every day since. My headaches aren't bad at all, I don't even necessarily need to take tylenol, I just do so I dont continue to focus on it. I will wake up fine, than bam! It will spontaneously crop up. It is very difuse and kind of all over my head. The part that has me really scared is on Sunday I could have sworn I smelled hairspray for like 30 seconds....but my husband didn't smell a thing. So I guess I am now hallucinating? Or maybe I caught a wiff of my own hair?? Also when i'm lying in bed I sometimes hear what sounds like fluid trickling in the back of my head. I dunno I am now second guessing every smell and every sound! Grrrrrrr! I went to the chiropractor tonight and he did say my neck was out in two places which could account of my headaches. I don't know, but I am freaking out here and could use a little reassurance! Thanks!

I was in a shopping mall in October and as soon as I walked in the door, I smelled burning plastic. I asked if any of my friends smelled it and they said they hadn't. I immediately panicked and prepared myself for the stroke I was about to have. So I sat down on the nearest bench, and got ready to die. Lol.

I didn't have a stroke after about 10 minutes so we got up and walked around. In the first store we went into, the worker was spraying air freshener, complaining about the burning smell from the heat turning on for the first time this winter. I could have slapped myself!

Not every weird sound or smell is indicative of something bad. Anxiety makes our whole bodies a wreck and sometimes we can have sensory misfires. It's all part of being human and worrying. :)
