Pins and needles in the left hand and numbness
« on: January 07, 2013, 06:45:55 AM »
Can anyone tell me why I have pins, numbness and needles in my left hand. I am suffering with depression and have done so since September. I also drink too much alcohol.

They are just some of the physical ailments associated with anxiety. I've been dealing with that since September. It's annoying but nothing to worry about, assuming you've been to the doctor like most of us have.

Hello,

I think these are normal symptoms which crop up when we become the prey of anxiety. So, don't worry and just relaxed to relieve your anxiety.

I know depression and alcohol consumption sometimes can go hand in hand, I suggest you cut back or stop the use of alcohol and see if that doesn't eliminate your sensation. If it doesn't then depression/stress/anxiety can cause your feelings as it did to me especially in my chest area and cheeks.

Hope you feel better soon!

Rock your head from side to side.  It will painlessly end the pins and needles/numbness you feel.  The tingle you feel is the result of compression in the bundle of nerves in your neck.  Loosening your neck muscles releases the pressure.  It should go away completely after about 60 seconds.
