If you don't know yet, I'm a 22 y/o mother of two & wife.
My current fears are lymphoma and thyroid cancer, now...

Leukemia, again!!

I started lifting light weights (10lbs.) about 6 days ago and have been doing it daily, but for no more than 5 minutes total/day. Anyway, I had a freak-out with this before and --- well, my enemy has returned.

PETICHAIE!!

I have *numeous* teeny-tiny red pin-prick dots all over both of my (upper-inner) arms.
You can't see them by just looking at my arms.
You have to really get close-up to even point them out.

Anyway, I have a ultrasound/Endo/PCP appointment this month.
Should I worry, or are these from weight lifting? O.o

All I can say is that people whose fears migrate from one catastrophic thing to another almost certainly have none of them.  But they can't seem to understand that that is what their pattern is telling them.

Do you spots go away for a second when you press on them? If they do I get these, too, all over the inside of my arms when I am flushed due to anxiety/ activity and they are also there after I've been sleeping. They REALLY scared me at first, but now I realize this is just how my skin looks when I'm flushed now, even though it didn't always happen.

Same here! Legs, chest and arms :)

I had concern regarding them many months ago and then put the fear to rest. I believe it is just that skin is skin, not perfect and full of capillaries, and to have little red spots is both common in Caucasians and also very normal!

I hate how the internet doesn't properly explain petichaie!!!
First- I had petichaie when it was related to a blood problem (ITP), they appeared  ONLY after bruises faded away (I was left with the tiny red dots in the bruises place) I had bruises everywhere. The petichaie remained for weeks AFTER the bruise finally faded and then I went to the doctor (by the way I was 22-now 25) If you are just getting red dots on your arms and your working out it is probably just broken capillaries and nothing to be concerned about. My husband is a fireman and gets petichaie just from his gear! He is fit and healthy- it happens. Do not jump to the conclusion of cancer. I know it's hard (I have that problem or I wouldn't be on this site!) True Petichaie comes as a result of low platelets and its a concern when they appear after a bruise fades. Little broken capillaries from working out is common. Along with the petichaie I was having nosebleeds, crazy heavy menstraul cycles, and my gums were bleeding a lot. Don't worry too much please and let us know how things go. A CBC should be all you need. I bet you are fine. Also- Just to put it in some perspective for you. You are supposed to have 150,000 to 400,000 platelets. When I had petichaie (again it ONLY appeared in the place where a bruise faded) I had 7,000 platelets. I never just got random red dots. I am not a doctor but delt with it for almost a year. I hope I ease your mind and not make it worse. By the way I did not have cancer.

I get them occasionally - especially if I scratch an itch in the shower; then for some reason I look like I have a horrible rash!  I went to my doctor about them once because, you know, the internet tells you you're doomed.  He confirmed that's what they were and basically shrugged and told me not to worry about it.  It's never caused me any problems.  I'm also prone to splinter hemorrhages in my fingernails, which if you've ever googled know the internet tells you those mean doom (and if you haven't, for god's sake, don't, you don't need something new to obsess over!).  My doctor was like "Yeah...you have damaged nails."  I still get them, mostly in nails that I've bitten.  Neither of these things has ever been significant, just scary.

In other words, with no other symptoms...don't worry about it.
