Still worried about random night sweat
« on: January 05, 2013, 01:31:25 PM »
Hi all,

I am hoping I can get some relief. My anxiety has been waxing and waning lately. More on the waning side (yay!) HOWEVER, one thing I can't shake is that I had *one* night of a bad night sweat.

I woke up warm, which tells me that it was my environment that was warm. I didn't wake up in a cold sweat. It was a pretty bad sweat -- the couch was wet. My clothes were sort of damp, but not "jumped-in-the-shower" damp.

I didn't have a fever, so no fever breaking. I wasn't anxious at this time. I just can't figure it out. The only thing I can think of is that I took two Excedrin and drank 3 vodka red bulls this night.

Can anybody shed some light? Would it only be a problem if they were continuous? Thank you!

I would just let it go.  There isn't an answer to everything.  One night in a sweat clearly can't mean you have a serious problem.

I have been sweating off and on for a year now. I hope and pray it is just anxiety. I think one random night sweat is not a worry.

Girlfriend, it could also be your hormones. I notice I'm sweatier at night during certain points in my cycle.

Also, anxiety doesn't have to be "conscious" to be present. Unconscious anxiety is the source of most of our problems.

It could also be those vodka red bulls. Nothing like mixing your uppers and downers to mess with your adrenals.

In case anyone is still confused:  googling your symptoms will cause you to remain in a state of extreme anxiety. Stepping away from the internet is the first step toward lasting peace.

Excedrin has caffeine in it, and red bull has alot of caffeine too. Too much caffeine makes me feel hot and flushed and it makes me sweat more. Just a thought.

Thanks for the input, all. I think you're right. If it only happened once, I'm sure it's not a big deal.

hey,
i get night sweats quite frequently. the kind where you wake up soaking wet. if you google it tells you all sorts of scary things, but dont listen to it. my doctor said it it quite common and sometimes it means nothing at all. :)
