Fingers and toes are swollen
« on: January 04, 2013, 04:52:20 PM »
My toes have been swelling over the past week and now my fingers are too. Its getting worse, it feels like i'm losing circulation in my wrists and my hands feel really warm. Fingers and toes are red i'm just looking for answers as to why they are swollen. I'm not allergic to anything, I don't smoke/drink or do drugs. Diet has been the same.

I mentioned earlier to a lot of pressure to the back of head but I was wondering if the Seroquel i'm taking could be doing this. I can't talk to my psych until Monday and I don't know how long my anxiety can last this weekend, I can't wait till Monday.

medications do have some potential side effect.  so one must follow doc directions precisely.  You can't double up or skip doses etc.

would seroquel do this?  IDK  the side effect panel on this medication.

while you may not be able to call the psy, you could possibly e'mail him/her or leave a message with his/her service.  You could also call the pharmacy and ask if the swelling is a side effect of the med.

on the other hand

we all KNOW that our  anxious over thinking can make things seem MUCH worse than they actually are.  so your perception of swelling could be filtered through your ha thinking  AND we know how dependable that sort of thinking can be  ::) :winking0008:.   So maybe you can ask a fam member or friend if your perception is correct with regard to swelling.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

I did have my mother look at my toes and she said she didn't notice. SO I guess I could be overreacting. :-S :)
