pressure in back of head
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:59:48 PM »
I've had this constant pressure feeling in the back of my head for almost five days and it feels like a headache but the pressure is intense. My toes are swollen and I keep feeling numbness in my fingers/toes and lately I've been telling myself its nothing but my mind keeps saying its a brain tumor. My great grandma had a brain tumor and died of results from it.

I'm also wondering if my seroquel is causing the headaches because it got worse when I took three of them for a bad panic attack yesterday. I have the 25mg pills and yesterday I took a 4 the whole day and its generally around 3 or 4 seroquels a day. Its the only anxiety med that helps me but I've been getting headaches so I don't know if its the seroquel or..you know, a brain tumor  :(

I'm not a doctor but I would think that brain tumors would present themselves with way worse symptoms than just a headache. My father in law recently had a brain tumor removed. He had significant symptoms, like memory loss, confusion, inability to recognize people and speak normally. Loss of his peripheral vision. He even lost his ability to tell what time he was in. He also had seizures and other health problems. Interestingly enough, headaches wasn't even one of his symptoms.

everybody always thinks  "headache"= tumors.

my dad and sis had brain tumors.  I never heard my dad speak of headaches.  My sister said that she occasionally had sinus type headaches.  she would take sinus meds and the headache went away.  So, I"m just guessing, but her headaches may actually been from sinus issues.   :winking0008:  NOW my dad and sis had other BIG things going on.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
