Is the chest tightness feeling
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:11:04 PM »
Anxiety or is it the aftermath of my first panic attack 6 days ago!!! I had a really bad panic attack 6 days ago and ever since then I've had a tight feeling around my chest, I want to know is this everyday anxiety or is it from my muscles being so tensed up?? I've slept and woke up to it for a week now!

It's crazy those physical symptoms from anxiety!! I have the chest tightness feeling right now too.  It's very common.  I have also had muscle spasms in my chest and throat.

Is it from the panic attack or just chronic anxiety I've developed after the attack?

The panic attack is a form of anxiety and the chest tightness is caused by anxiety/tension/stress. Your muscles are probably in a state of tightness but will eventually release.  Unfortunately, only your brain knows when it will release that tension.  I've felt perfectly fine, not even anxious but still had the muscle tensions for a few months even.  It doesn't make sense sometimes.  It's a waiting game.  Just except it for what it is and try to get it out of your mind.  I know, easier said than done!
