skin cancer fear

I am developing a pretty raging fear of having skin cancer.  I've always had really dark, bigger moles.  A few years ago, my mom started sending me to a dermatologist because I had a couple rather large ones she was worried about.  Over the past few years, I've had a zillion moles cut out or burned off to check for any signs of cancer.  One mole was something that could have turned into cancer, so they actually had to do a small surgery and remove much more of the skin and mole, and I was out of work for a month!

Now, to my current fear.  I've been having pain in my upper right back shoulder area for a few months now.  It kinda feels like a pulling sensation right under my shoulder blade.  Sometimes it becomes painful though, and I get like a burning sensation.  About a week and a half ago, one of my moles on that same area of my back started giving me some pain.  I noticed a scab had formed on the outer edge of it, and me being obsessive, I wouldn't leave it alone until the scab came off and it started bleeding.  It eventually healed over, and to touch it though would send pain shooting through that area of my back.  At times I can still feel pain coming from it.

I'm worried where I've had the feeling in my back for 3 months now, and then had this scab form on my mole (which would be considered a mole change, I guess)...I'm thinking the worst and need some reassurance or thoughts.  Should I get it checked out?  I hate to have another mole removed, my back already looks like a warzone from all the ones they've already taken.

Have it checked out: it may be infected.

I accidentally pulled a mole completely off my foot one time while scratching an insect bite. It came back and has not given me any trouble.

I know all about skin cancer fears: going through them myself right now. Since you have been checked many times, I don't think anything is going to sneak up on you. Just go see the derm and get it taken care of -ask her to burn it off.
