*CANCER* Scared!! Yearly Ultrasound Check-Up Soon!!

My ultrasound (yearly check-up) is on the 9th of this month.
I'm so anxious/nervous. I'm a 22-year-old wife and mother of two; 7 & 1 year old.
The thyroid nodules were found when I was 16/17.

2cm some-what complex cystic-mass, which has multiple septations.
9mm hypoechogenicity, most likely solid.
Both of these, however, remain stable.

My Grandmother (passed from old-age) had a benign growth on her thyroid.
She had it surgically removed, due to pressing on the wind-pipe.

See, I am *almost* convinced that I have thyroid/lymphoma cancer.
My age alone worries me, since these finding are RARE in my age.
Remember, these were found when I was 16/17.

Please, tell me your story... or, any advice?

friends of ours--------she has a large thyroid nodule and has had FOR years.  it was biopsied last year.  it is still benign but growing.  when it starts impeding swallowing and such, then she'll have her thyroid removed.

her daughter---just before turning 11, had FIVE nodules biopsied.  All benign.

many, many people have nodules. 

most people who actually end up with thyroid cancer are 100% cured by having the thyroid removed.  it is one of the 'easy' cancers.


I have SIX kids.  None of us want to leave our kids.  This is a common, common fear among moms and dads.  Just because we are afraid of leaving our kids doesn't mean it will happen.  This is just a ploy used by our BEASTIES.
