Aussie ocd sufferer.Here's my story.....
« on: January 04, 2013, 12:41:21 AM »
Hi everyone.

My experiences are that I'm an ocd sufferer since 2006,a chronic fatigue syndrome sufferer since 2000.In 2006 there was a moment that changed my life.I felt a little bit of electricity run across the top of my head.It felt like electricty.Straight after,I knew something was wrong.within 90 minutes I would find that my life was turned upside down.

I went to have a look at the junk mail(store catalogues)I brought in earlier.I froze in fear when I tried to pick them up.I just couldnt move them. This fear thing in my head came out of nowhere. That was the start od more similar fear of picking things up.Couldnt move things. This was continuing at random. Here are some of the worst things that the ocd prevented me doing:

unable to trim my hair, fingernails, toenails, shave, wash my hair, etc.
unable to wear new clothes/clean clothes and not even wash any clothes.

(At this point I started looking grotty.Real homeless look.I've seen people years ago who had this problem its just now I was one of them.)

Unable to eat food when I'm on my own.
Unable to prepare food for cooking when I'm on my own.
Unable to cook when I'm on my own.
Unable to get onto internet forums .
unable to remove recyclables and rubbish from my home.
unable to put air conditioner on.
unable to remove food, etc from fridge/freezer.
unable to clean out freezer and make it clean.

Basically my life was a mess.Think of a computer virus. It wont let you do things you want to do/need to do.Makes you do things you dont want to do.

I cant really explain it any further what this feels like. Its horrific. It changed me from a very well groomed, takes pride in my appearance kinda guy to a mess.I've never looked like such a mess.

I started looking around for a non medical practitioner in 2007.Since then I've had 5.The current one has been treating me since JUly 2009.My progress from ocd has been busy these last 8 months. Most of my unable to do list I have been cured of.I did say CURED of.I'm making progress. My practitioner he's just so impressed.

If you can relate to what I'm going through and you'd like to compare notes, please reply.

If you're an Aussie please reply to start with.
