Toe/Foot issues (curling forwards)
« on: January 03, 2013, 05:26:50 AM »
Hello all,

I haven't posted in a little while as I've been seeing a therapist and really digging in to end this horrible episode of anxiety. However, I've got something into my head perhaps so bizzare that I feel ashamed to even discuss it elsewhere.

It's my toes! Or my feet in general perhaps. I've actually started obsessing and looking at other people's feet (none of whom seem to have this). Basically, alot of the time, my toes seem to droop down or fowards. It's quite hard to explain, but at night it's at it's worse. Surely toes should be flat or at facing slightly upwards (that's what I've noticed on other people). When my feet are totally relaxed it isn't so bad, but if I move them upward even a little my toes (especially the biggest two) start to curl over.

Now, I've not googled symptoms in a long time but unfortunately, you can not forget what you've already seen. When I was convinced I had Parkinsons a month or two back, I read that neurological conditions like that and MS can cause toes to curl and it's the only symptom I have that I'm to ashamed to talk to the Dr about.

Does anyone else notice when their feet are in certain positions their toes curl foward? Or am I doomed.

Thanks.

Hey, personally after experiencing exactly what your talking about , I wouldn't worry about it.
2 years back, My toes curled for about 4 or 5 months straight whenever I laid down and sometimes when I just sat down.
Occasionaly it'll happen again but that's like once in a few months now.
I also went thru the Parkinson's scare cause my fingers were twitching non stop
I think your fine but its be a good idea to talk to your doc

Hi East18, many thanks for taking the time to reply.

Did you ever consult a Dr as to why that was happening to you?

I've had a number anxiety neuro anxiety symptoms alongside ths - twitching, internal vibration, tremors, zaps etc.

I intend to speak to my GP about it as I have an appointment with her next week, I just fear I may sound crazy (but if I'm honest, she's used to that!)

No insight really but wondering if it could be hammertoes...which is no big deal other than your toes look funny...and maybe hurt or something.
