Hi,

You don't have a reason to worry! You don't have any symptoms, as I understand, colonoscopy is just for screening purposes? It is natural to worry a bit, but do not cancel the procedue, and do not go into panic. I had a rectoscopy recently after having some rectal problems (which could signal anal cancer), and everything was fine!
All will be Ok with your results too. Anal cancer is rare, especially for someone having no symptoms  :winking0008:

I had a colonoscopy done in October after having some bad abdominal pain and finding out I had diverticulosis at the age of 27. My grandpa died from colon cancer, so my dr recommended I get checked. I was so nervous to go through with the test and that they would find something bad. I am glad I went through with it though, they didn't find anything, and now my mind can rest. The test itself you aren't awake for, the prep is pretty gross, but I made it through it without throwing up or anything. If the test is something you think you need to do, just do it and get it out of the way, you will be glad you did.

I had rectal bleeding in 2010 and years of weird stomach pain. They recommended a colonoscopy; I literally cried until the medicines knocked me out.

They found nothing. I had to put my little screen away so I wouldn't keep looking at it. My aunt had colon c at a young age so I was spazzing. My dad also had a polyp. I shouldn't give you any reassurance,  but I'll just say what my psychlogist used to say - no matter what, you will be ok.

Welcome to anxietyzone. I have had a number of them and they are no big deal. The medicine they use today
to knock you out is pretty mild and it actually wakes you up and the vast majority have no side effects.

I know how scary testing can be.  I've lost plenty of sleep over upcoming tests and waiting for results.

This is a routine screening test, you aren't having any symptoms and think how great you'll feel when it's over!  Then you don't need another one for something like 10 years, right?
