Is it even worth getting another test?

Im at about 6 weeks in to my last encounter. Ive been trying to get an hiv test because im racking my brain out. I have this feeling my tounge is breaking out and I have a little line of blood under my nail on my big toe. My question is if I get a test will it give me any peace of mind? Like I said right now im afraid to scratch myself in fear or its a symptom. One place told me they would test me this weekend so I think Im gonna do that. They said they may not text me tho since Im not gay and they only do free tests typically on gay men. But I may still try it. When you guys and girls on here get re tested does it ever put your mind at ease?

Did you have unprotected sex with someone who is HIV positive?

I dont know if she was or not. I met her at a bar. She had my friends number cuz I was using his cell that night. She texted him the next day but he deleted the number and we havent talked .

Well it seems quite unlikely, but if you have doubts, get a test, what can anyone say?

I have searched the internet endlessly about this same question when I was afraid of getting a test. The short answer from what I gathered: 6 weeks is enough time. If you really want 100% assurance, get one at 8 weeks and close the chapter of this book. I know it's easier said than done. Honestly, with your low risk behavior and a negative test at 6 weeks, the chance it will be positive is slim to none. You honestly have a better chance of walking outside and having the winning megabucks lotto ticket at your front doorstep.

I also have a fear of HIV, and I know telling you this won't change your mind -- but please trust me. You will be fine. I know male friends who have had sex with literally 50+ girls unprotected and guess what? They are okay! I am not condoning this behavior AT ALL, but I figured this would make you feel a tad better. You know what this is stemming from? Guilt. Guilt because you don't do things like this often. Trust me, I know. I felt the same way when I had a one night stand. I felt so guilty and lame that it manifested in HIV anxiety.

You look at your HIV anxiety in the face and go, "I know what you are, and I know what you're doing." It truly is a manifestation of guilt. Get your negative result at 8 weeks and move on. Keep me posted. Feel free to PM me as well.
