Numbness
« on: December 23, 2012, 11:57:00 PM »
I'm wondering if anybody else has problems with persistent numbness even when they aren't anxious? I have had this going for a couple weeks now and was one of the reasons I had an MRI done. It's in my left forearm and my left cheek area. It seems to alternate from being less or more noticeable throughout the day, but as far as I can tell is always there. The arm part is localized as far as I can tell to my left forearm but feels like it moves around to different spots in my forearm, it is weird. I have had the feeling of having a bracelet on, like numbness around my left wrist as well. I call it numbness, but I can feel like when I blow on my arm or put something cold against it, so maybe it is pressure and not numbness? I don't know, but it is there regardless.

I am having a similar experience, and its got me worried. I went through an extreme stressor months ago, and then started having chronic back and neck tension. Next, I noticed a spot near my bottom left shoulder blade that went from tingling to numb and also itching. Then, I got a patch of numbness at the bottom of my right knee cap. And finally, I have now developed a patch of numbness on my forearm next to my left elbow. I feel these when relaxed, and though they seem to subside at times, they are always there. I feel perfectly fine and healthy otherwise, and unlike many, I want to run AWAY from doctors, because I mostly fine them incompetent. But I welcome opinions on whether this might be something serious. I am out of statistical range for MS being a 57 year old male.

I just wanted to reply and say that after a while now of being back on my meds and not focusing on my anxiety, I don't notice the problems I typed about in my post. They may still be there somewhat, but I don't notice them like I did before.
