EXTREME fatigue
« on: November 20, 2007, 09:01:25 PM »
I have been on night shift for about 2 months now. Since then my sleeping schedule has been a little all over the place. I get four hours here, 2 hours there...etc. I am having EXTREME fatigue. So much, that if I even close my eyes for a SECOND I will fall asleep. I feel like I am constantly on a heavy dose of Narcotics. Has anyone else ever felt this way? Is it normal? I am so lethargic and sedated feeling, that I am scared if I go to sleep I will die. I know it's irrational, but hey- that's why I'm here!

The fatigue of working the night shift combined with anxiety is causing your drugged up/extreme fatigue feeling for sure!  Don't sweat it.  You won't die in your sleep! :winking0008:  It is a real catch 22.  The more you worry, it adds to your fatigue.  The more tired you are, the more you worry.  Just try some relaxing exercises, and know you'll make it through it!

Hang in there!
