Fibromyalgia... and Fibrofog!!!!!!!! Help!!!!

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and for the last while I have had bouts of fibrofog...
I feel like i am going crazy, and I can't remember people's names, even famous ones.
 I have to go through the alphabet to try and come up with the names.
The more I do this the more it happens.
I ask silly questions, and I feel like I am watching myself during these times.
Anyone else ever go thro this?????

I have definitely had confusion and memory loss from anxiety ..
you are so focused on yourself and your symptoms that everything else goes right out the window!
The other day I was so focused on the fact that I was gonna have an embolism in my lung..I went to call my best friend (who I have been calling for 24 years) and completely forgot her phone number...I have NEVER forgotten her phone number...it totally scared me...
but it was nothing :)
If you feel ilke you're watching yourself..it's called depersonalization...
Anxiety sufferers get this all the time!
It's the feeling that you are floating above yourself and are watching yourself..
there is also derealization ...
when I get THIS I usally know I'm in my apartment or my job or wherever, but it doesn't feel like my apartment...
It's really scary..but can't hurt..and you are NOT going crazy!
try and KNOW that it's a ymptom and you'll hopefully feel better...
SOrry to hear about your diagnosis...but it's a totally manageable thing!..you'll be fine doll!

There is a train of thought that depression/anxiety and fibro/CFS are closely inter-related - i.e. the first 2 aspects can lead to the second 2 aspects.

'Fibro fog', similar to 'CFS fog', has been often noted in anxiety and depression conditions, and is probably due to imbalances in the brain, e.g. lower levels of dopamine, which can happen in depression and anxiety, can affect memory. I get this myself sometimes.

The memory lapses will pass but th underlying anx/dep has to get better first, not completely better, just a little better.
