lilvanillachica1,

Sounds like a good idea, I'll try to think of something. Don't worry about making a fool of yourself, just do what you want. Of course I would say this, since I'm the one that started the most embarrassing moment thread.  :happy0151:

Well, here is my effort!  I am not a poet and that's for sure, but I thought I would start the ball rolling (no laughing because it's your your turn next!)

I want to explain that I have been having what the doctor calls palpitations for - oh... two months easily now and during the day, it is far easier to cope with this than at night when it is dark and I worry that I am going to have a heart attack or something.  I just wish, really wish that I could wake up tomorrow and feel healthy, happy and totally worry free!

Bronte x

*******

Could someone explain to me, because I just don't know
why it's always at night that my panic runs riot?
It creeps though my mind and it strangles my throat
I try to control it, but it just will not go

My mind goes in circles and just will not stop
What is wrong with me that the doctor did not spot?
Why is my heart still skipping beats when she said it was fine?
Why do I worry so much all of the time?

I wasn't always like this. I used to be happy and carefree
And it didn't happen suddenly, it just kind of crept up on me
Things that happen in life cause just such a reaction inside
So I'm like this inside me but look qiuite normal on the outside

wow! I forget i even posted this! Its nice that people are nonjudgmental here.
heres one of mine,
Age 18 and trapped inside her own mind. Waiting to be let out. Waiting for a sign. Trying to stop the tears that always threatin to fall.Sometimes wishing she wasn't born at all.
so confused and nowhere to go. living inside her own horrorshow. She gets so scared and she dont know why. Wondering whats the truth and wondering whats the lie. Figurin out her thoughts gets harder by the day. watching what she does watching what to say.She dont know know herself dont know why shes here.DRowing in her guilt hiding in her fear. Holding onto a past she cant do nothing about, a little girl screaming to get out. She cant accept her pain and she dont wanna try. Dont wanna spend one more day having to cry. Constantly wondering what people say when shes not around. She pulls herself up only to fall back down.  Not understanding not knowing what to do. What would happen if you looked in the mirror and realized was you?
I wrote this 2 years ago when my anxiety started

I have suffered from anxiety/panic attacks for nine years.  It really is a pain in the BUTT!  I often write poetry about what I am going through.  I am not a poet, no talent, but like to get my feelings out every-once in awhile on paper.  Here is one of mine I wrote awhile back during a panic attack...

THE CURSE

Take a deep breath…
Easier said than done
Gasping for air
The Curse has begun

Fiery flames from hell
Start to trickle down my face
My mind gets ready
For a fast and crazy pace

Deep at the core of my belly
There is a sickening urge
I rush to the bathroom
With the need to purge

My head is spinning
I feel like I will faint
I am praying for help
From an invisible saint

My body is shaking
From head to toe
The aches and pains
Crumbles me low

Palpitations are bursting
Causing pain in my chest
I need something quick
To put me at rest

I reach for my blade
And slice my left wrist
Draining the curse
And fading into a bliss...
