Night panic. Like right now! lol.

I get a pressure feeling in the back of my head, and then tingling somewhere on my body. I also feel like I am in an alternate reality at the same time. It is always worse when you wake up with it ... harder to come out of it, or stop it from becoming a full blown panic attack. But it feels like I imagine a stroke would feel .... if that makes any sense. I get lots of symptoms, but this one is the worst by far. Even than derealization ... actually I guess until I wake up fully, that is part of what it feels like.

Derealization/depersonalization and this tight, tense feeling at the base of my skull/top of my neck (where it attaches to the head) feels like it's going to tremble or jerk and i feel like if I relax or "go with it" that I'll have a seizure or my head will start shaking violently lol..that has never happened but it sure feels like it will.

I wouldn't say its a weird symptom but probably pretty normal, I get incredibly hot incredibly fast and often feel like my throat is starting to close up  :(

I'd say the dispersonalization and disrealization with lightheaded / dizzy feeling is my worse followed by intrusive thoughts and impending doom top it off.

I get an uncomfortable swelling feeling just below my rib cage on the right side of my abdomen. Randomly appears and randomly disappears.

I get gas too, but my weirdest symptom by far is that my hands go completely numb and contract into a fixed position with my wrists bending towards my body.  It freaks me out so much! Most of my panic attacks have been while driving and there have been times where I had to wait & let time pass before I could literally get my hands off the wheel.  I have to pull over of course, and it takes a long time for all of the feeling to return, around an hour.

If anyone reading this has ever experienced anything like that (or even heard of someone who has) please let me know. All of my other panic symptoms are pretty typical.

Hi Pollystardust, I have just done my introductory post, which concerns my daughter's anxiety and depression rather than my own at this time.

Amongst the other symptoms that she gets, the one I forgot to mention in the post is this very one..her hands become tightly clenched and it is now affecting her ability to write when then happens.  She appears to be getting additional symptoms this time around.

I hope the you find a way of overcoming this particular symptom, as I also hope my daughter does too.

Can't breathe and I think that I'm dying, and then the weirdest part is my thought "well, death will be better than this."

The derealization is the weirdest thing, most other symptoms you can try and convince yourself its just nothing but when you feel detached from your surroundings its a feeling that's hard to shake off.  Anybody had a weird trigger for their panic attacks?  For me I was watching tv (for a long period) and my eyes adjusted and my vision went kind of pixelated for a brief second.  Scared the hell out of me.  I thought the tunnel and white light were gonna appear next,  I immediately jumped out of my chair and ran outside.

I get an all over body sensation of tingling/heat, which I know is the adrenaline/fight or flight kicking in. It's always my first symptom and once I get that feeling I know a full blown attack is going to happen.

I also get brief bouts of derealization which is a very very strange feeling

I also experience a symptom that I don't think is all that common for panic sufferers (could be wrong) and that is vomiting. I get myself extremely worked up to the point where I throw up, and it's been happening to me since my very first panic attack. It used to accompany every attack, now not so much but it did happen during my most recent panic attack which was very severe for me
You have just described my life. Seriously.
That's so odd. Usually I can't find anyone with the exact same symptoms as me. Except instead of a full body sensation at first, it starts very stongly and painfully in the tips of my fingers, then spreads up through the palms of my hands and through my body. But yes, I'm exactly like this.

Depersonalization, legs feel like they will start to float or fly up fast any minute, sinking into the couch or bed, a strange ticklish weird feeling inside all over my body (that's the one that bothers me most and is really hard to ignore).

I tremble a lot and feel really nauseated. Even threw up once. Heart beats really fast too. Feels like I'm going to have a heart attack. Depersonalization sounds terrifying though :(

When I get really stressed and am panicking, my teeth start to chatter like I'm really cold even when I'm not. It's not a particularly annoying symptom (as opposed to feeling lightheaded or something) but it's very weird I think!

Can someone describe the depersonalization not sure if that's what I'm getting, I have this feeling in my head like when your flesh crawls that comes and goes and that sometimes send me into a panic cause I'm wondering if it's something wrong with me.

Today in a meeting at work I had one that made me want to flee the room, I was sitting there and it felt like my throat muscles died and I couldn't catch my breath, the I felt this intense heat hit me all over my body then the heart started racing I knew what it was but I wanted to leave the room and go to the nearest emergency room cause I felt like I was dying. I HATE THIS, WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE GETTING THIS 0103!!!!!!!

I normally don't notice that I'm feeling anxiety until OCD starts kicking in...then I do everything in either 4's or 8's and I pray compulsively, as weird as that is.

I thought I was the only one who vomits! I wake up gaggy and can easily throw up even before ever eating. Sometimes it seems there is no good reason for it! I also will have severe anxiety that lasts for days. Does anyone get the foggy brain too?

I often get extremely hungry but also, the thought of food further nauseates me. Such as today. I'm pretty sure my anxiety is causing indigestion and an excess of acid in my stomach which is the root of sour stomach. Quite an odd symptom in my honest opinion.
