Mirtazapine
« on: September 11, 2007, 06:44:48 PM »
Anybody been prescribed this?  Had my first half pill last night and wow was it ever scary. I took it at 10.30 and eventually fell asleep around 3.30.  I was so anxious almost felt out of control. Today i still felt the effects of it, very tired and not with it.  Anyone else had these symptoms.  I am definitely not taking another pill tonite.

i take mirazapine everynight. It is supposed to help you relax and go to sleep, if its having that effect on you then its obviously not the right drug to use. My dr perscribed it to me for insomnia, why were you perscribed it? I would definately get a change of meds.... they must be miing differently with your system.
Let me know how it turns out

I was taking 45mg of it - knocked me right out but that was the problem.  I actually fainted on it so I had to quit taking it with kids and a husband who works.  Now I need something else to sleep.

Good to know I am not the only person who has problems with it.  I only took the one and I did not like the side effects.  Now it means going back to the Dr to get a new prescription after paying a $100 for the last lot.  Must say it has made me nervous to try anything new.  Wonder if its worth it?

No I don't take anything else, and I am not sure I want to after the reaction I had to Mirtazapine.  My Dr told me this week that I was clinically depressed, so does that mean its a chemical unbalance, and the only cure is medication or can i try some sort of therapy to get me out of this.  My mind feels kinda foggy all the time and i have terrible mood swings.
