Question on IBS

I don't have the classic symptoms of IBS but all of this bowel stuff started back in Dec when my HA kicked in. I don't have much stomach pain or any constipation. This is what I do have:

Loose stool every morning upon wakening - no matter what time I wake up it's like 5 minutes later.

Thinner stools - 5/8" - 3/4" - like a dime.

I started Metamucil today and had 2 doses so far to see if it will bulken stool - I have had a few gassy pains. Is that common?

I am so scared of going for a colonoscopy - not the procedure but the doc waking me up to tell me I have cancer. I am terrified. Everytime I look at my daughters now I get emotional.

Your fear of being told you are dying is completely normal, and it's not something that's unique to anxiety sufferers, though we tend to have stronger fears and such.

But you sound fine to me, and while I know you're afraid of the colonoscopy, having one could go a long way for you. First, it will prove to you that you don't have cancer. Second, it will help you get over the fear of every test ending with the doctor telling you that your life is ending.
