question regarding a lymph node
« on: February 07, 2012, 02:58:54 PM »
For the past month (could have been longer, I don't know, wasn't aware before a month ago that it existed) I have had a lymph node in my groin that is swollen.  It is probably 1.5 cm, maybe smaller though.  I went to the doctor, who said it is a benign lymph node that came up because I had pulled some muscles in that area.  She told me that poking it and prodding it had made it worse and to stop touching it, use ice and advil, and it should go down.

Well 1 1/2 weeks later, it is still there and probably around the same size, maybe a tiny bit smaller.  I do admit I did not leave it alone totally though and have been poking at it a little bit.  My boyfriend says that because I went to the doc, I should be fine and not to worry about it as she would not have let me go free and clear if she was concerned.  He does not have anxiety though.  Should I just forget about it?  Or should I go back?

Forget about it!!!! Read your post. :happy0151:  You said it felt a little bit smaller.  You said you've been poking it - still.

Try and leave it alone - give it some more time to heal.  It will probably go away.
