Another six months to go.

Well today was my six month checkup for the breast tissue they found in my yearly mammo screening.  I have been so upset this past week that I couldn't even write it in a post here.  I had myself dead and buried and my children left with out their mother.  My cousin's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and had a double mascetomy three weeks ago.  Then every ad and magazine article I read is about breast cancer.  I have been a complete basket case.
The end result is that the breast tissue is still there but it hasn't changed or grown which is a good thing.  After six very painful films and another sonogram, I was sent home and told to check it in another six months at my yearly screening.
Why is it that I completely freak out about these things?  My husband was going to come with me, but at the last minute I asked him to stay home.  I sorta felt it was time for me to act like an adult.  I was however pretty proud of myself that I didn't start crying until after they told me everything looked okay.
