Guilt and Indecisiveness
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:56:57 AM »
So how many of you anxiety sufferers out there experience either guilt or indecisiveness?  Or both?

I experience both - but I'm curious to see if it's really a symptom of anxiety or depression or both.

Well, I suspect I might feel more guilt than the average Joe. I will feel guilty for longer than most, and over silly things.

For example, when I was 12 spit on a younger boy. This younger boy idolized me, but I did not want him always following me around. My way of getting rid of him was to spit on him. To this day, I feel absolutely terrible about this. Whenever that memory pops into my mind, I get this instant feeling of disgust with myself. Part of me knows that I should let this go...I am 30 now and I no longer spit on people...but it still bothers me.

I cannot relate to the indecisiveness.

Linda, i suffer with both. I even feel guilty when i shouldn't - when things don't even concern me!  I'm glad it's not just me (although i wouldn't want to wish it on anybody else!)

Same with me... I feel guilty for everything. Not sure y or what causes it. Even when reassured I shouldn't feel that way I still do.

I don't really have a problem with indecisiveness, but I definitely do with guilt! So much guilt and shame that I carry around with me :(

Guilt and indecision are classic symptoms of depression.

I definately agree that both are a sign of depression, but am seeing a trend that alot of anxiety sufferers experience guilt.  Not so much indeciveness though.

Just doing some reading and thought I'd take a poll.  I hope more people respond to this post.  Thanks!

Someone told me guilt was a verdict more than a feeling (yeah, okay), but the indecisiveness is pretty standard depression. Also, anxiety often leads to depression.

I find I experience both guilt and indecisiveness too,  maybe more on the indecisiveness the more stressed I am...
